Tanaporn "tears up" the Course - wins at 7 under par

Tanaporn Kongkiatkrai of Bangkok, THAILAND (2011) fired a 6 under par 66 to lead all scores on Saturday.  A bogey-free round that included 6 birdies certainly gave her something to smile about.  Tanaporn had two Top 5 finishes already this season, but was looking for her first win on Sunday, and she found it.  She began the final round with a 6 stroke advantage, she knew there were some very capable competitors in the field.  Shannon Pak of New Orleans, LA (2011) and

Sally Watson of Earlsferry, SCOTLAND (2009) are both 3rd year FCWT players playing in their first event of the season. Miss Watson, who led this division in pars on Saturday with 16, had a win and a 2nd place finish last season and is currently ranked # 26 in the Golfweek/Titleist rankings.  Miss Watson did fire the Low Round on Sunday with a 3 under par 69, but it wasn't enough to overtake the lead the Tanaporn built on Saturday.  Tanaporn posted a final round of 1 under par to finish at 7 under par for the event and earn her first FCWT title as well as an exemption to the National Championship.

Miss S. Pak's final round of 73 allowed her to finish in 3rd place, 2 strokes ahead of 2006 Champion of this event Jessica Korda of Bradenton, FL (2011).

Nelsen goes wire-to-wire for the win

In the opening round of the Coyote Creek Open, Brenna Nelsen of Monte Sereno, CA (2011) carded a 76 (+4) to lead all scores in the Girls 13-18 division.  Brenna led the division in pars with 15 on Saturday.  On Sunday, she protected her lead by carding a final round of 74 to win by 3 strokes.  She carded a total of 28 pars over the weekend as she earned her first win in this her 3rd FCWT event of the season.  Miss Nelsen had previously finished 2nd at the Classic Club and 4th at Notre Dame.

Tiffany Lim of San Jose, CA (2011) took home 2nd place at 153.  She edged out

Stephanie Hsieh of Alamo, CA (2011) who began the day in 6th place, 5 strokes back of Miss Nelsen, but carded the Low Round of 73 to finish in 3rd.
